Humphrey Campbell was born on February 26 1958 in Surinam, in a small bauxite village called Moengo. He is the 10th in a family of 13 children where music was a predominant factor.
1973 Winner of the highly prestigious Naks Students singing contest in Surinam.
1974 Member of the pop band Oscar Harris & The Twinkle Stars in the Netherlands. Toured through Europe and South America. Got his first record deal with record company Dureco.
1975-1978 Singles released: I Really Love You, Angel, In My Dreams, Heaven Is Full Of Angels, Reggae Revolutions.
1978 In My Dreams / Saturday Night was his first self-composed single.
1982-1987 Attended the Conservatory in Hilversum, where he majored in Jazz and graduated “Cum laude” with notation. There he was offered a teacher’s chair.
1984 Seth Gaaikema translated “For Once In my Life” for his New Year’s conference and invited Humphrey to perform it accompanied by Jerry van Rooyen and his Conservatory Music Shop.
At the invitation of Jerry van Rooyen, (conductor, composer and arranger) Humphrey became the permanent vocalist of the Dutch Jazz Orchestra. Also he was frequently invited by various orchestras including The Sky Masters, the Metropole Orchestra, the BRT Orchestra, WDR Big Band Köln Big Band, and the VARA Dance Orchestra.
1985 Performed at Knokke festival in Belgium.
1987-1997 Vocal teacher at the Jazz department of the Hilversum Conservatory.
As a guest musician/vocalist and vocal arranger Humphrey is heard on CDs by Jerry van Rooyen, Rob de Nijs, Paul de Leeuw, Greetje Kauffeld, Rocq-e Harrell, Peter Koelewijn, Anita Meijer, Helmut Lotti, Ruth Jacott and Henk Westbroek.
1989 Humphrey Campbell played one of the leading roles in the musical “A Night At The Cotton Club ‘.
1991 Release of his debut album “NO Questions”. He co-produced, composed and wrote most of the track titles himself.
1992 Performed at the Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden. With his brothers Ben and Carlo as background singers he achieved the ninth place with “Wijs Me De Weg” (Show Me The Way).
1994-2010 Worked as a producer, composer and arranger for their company, primarily releasing CDs and DVDs of Ruth Jacott (Dutch artist). He also supervised, arranged, composed and functioned as a vocal coach for her theater shows.
He also did vocal arrangements, produced CD’s and supervised for several Dutch artists.
1997 With the vocal group CC Campbell Humphrey is regularly seen again in the spotlight with his brothers Carlo and Charles. Within this group he plays a role as a composer, arranger and producer. He arranged and produced the CD ‘Souls in Harmony’, on which two compositions by him appeared, namely, “If This Is Real” and “I Am On My Way ‘. The lyrics were written by Humphrey and Lucy Steymel.

2012 CC Campbell performed at a seventies show in ’t Zand in Maarssen
2014 Campbell again joined the Amsterdam Conservatory as a senior vocal lecturer in the Jazz department.
